I know man, been waiting so long on this one but it wasn't his fault, it's the label: Lifted Music. I know Liam talks shit about collabs even though he does them (Pendulum, Josh Homme) so if he ever did one with Spor that would rock.

Collaborating with producers might be useless (especially Rob Swire, what the fuck was he thinking about). However, having an instrumentalist on your album is pretty cool. I don't like Rage Against the Machine, but that song with Tom Morello, "One Man Army" was a beast!!! There are some situations in which collaborations can be something very, very good. I wish the guys worked with Noisia, Spor or Foreign Beggars, and that the next album will be heavier, IMD was very noisy, but definitely not one of their best. Yes, I could go on forever with the things I want to happen (especially since I heard that South Central remake, The Prodigy isn't supposed to sound like Chase&Status, DO YOU READ THIS, LIAM????), but I know the guys will do what they want, because they are musicians and they know what they're doing.

I wouldn't say it's the way forward, if there even is a way forward, but yeah, for the genre, and how music in general see's the genre, the Prodigy are the grandmasters.

When Liam's 70 he'll be the image of a modern grandmaster; surrounded by ancient synths, covered in tattoo's, and a following of the most loyal dogs in existence.

Then the other question to ask is what electronic music as a whole would look like had The Prodigy never made it.

The Prodigy didn´t invent electronic music, nor did they change the fact that 99,9% of all electronic music sucks donkeyballs, have always sucked donkeyballs, and always will suck sonkeyballs.

Would we have even have Breaks?

-Breakbeat was "invented" in the late 70s in Bronx, NY
-Breakbeat was made popular in the 80s by DJs like Afrika Bambaataa, Kool Herc, Grandmaster Flash etc.
-Breakbeat was refined in the 90s. Tons of subgenres branched out. The Prodigy represents a tiny portion of that.

What would D&B look like? Would Dubstep exist?

DnB would sound pretty much the same, and we´d have dubstep. I don´t know how drum and bass looks like

---

We would not have breakbeat, as we know it, without the Amen Break (The Winstons - Amen Brother), Funky Drummer (James Brown) and Apache (The Incredible Bongo Band).
We would not have those pieces of music without the invention of certain instruments
We would not have those certain instruments without the "invention" of social culture
We would not have flourishing social cultures without aggriculture
Irrigation made breakbeat!

well i think they influenced electronic artists to write their music with the stage in mind {chemical bros, chase and status, calvin harris, pendulum, and so on}
i wouldnt say their the new beatles, their just the prodigy doing it their way, not taking things to seriously and doing what they want {which is what music is all about}
i hope in 50 years they will be remembered because they deserve to be, there will never be another band that comes close to them in the music they do.

I fucking hate the Beatles guys. I know it's one of those things you must never admit, such as not liking Champagne or Monty Python, but I don't like them either.
Although after seeing some of the silly little girls at the front of recent Prodge gigs coming out with comment like "I hope some of Keiths sweat lands on me, he's so fit" or asking "Liam who?" when I told them who was in the huey circling MK.... maybe they are becoming like the Beatles.
Lennon mistakenly said the Beatles were bigger than Jesus (but Lennon was a self-satisfied prick) whereas Liam has never said he is bigger than god.
We just say that he is god.

He's done more for us than god. But that's another argument, another thread, another forum.

I like champagne.
