TOPIC: Newbie at Sheffield

Newbie at Sheffield 4 years, 2 months ago #28035

I'm off to my first ever Prodigy gig, in fact it's my first ever music gig. So basically i'm looking for any info on what to expect. Not regards The Prodigy, we all know they'll be kicking ass, but more about my day. Obviously the guys aren't on first, so what time should i get there? How long will Dizzie be on first? What time will Liam and the boys kick off? What will all the other fans be doing before the event and what time will you get in?

Other questions such as can you take your own bottled water, (many events don't let you bring anything in) are cameras ok and is there plenty of parking? Like i say, total newb here, but really looking forward to it.

hello,
first gig eh? all the other gigs you go to after this will be rubbish

doors open at 18.30, with DJ's Pete Jordan and Herve playing.

Dizzee should be on at 19.45 and the Prodigy on stage at 21.15 - well that's the plan.

As to what do while there.... buy merch drink and dance to an inch of your life in the mosh pit (subject to health) but as it's your first wait for the first track to kick in, find the edge of the mosh pit, get into what's happening around you and then you can decide to dive in or bounce on the edges and feel the love for the rest of the fans.

Thanks for that nivag.

Didn't have a clue when the Prodigy would be on stage, all i really knew was when the doors opened. My other half booked the tickets as a surprise so i didn't know much about the gig and i haven't even read up anywhere else or looked at the tickets. I'm pleased the main course doesn't kick in while a bit later as i'm also at another event that day and will be dashing straight to Sheffield as soon as it's over. It'll finish about 16:50 and so i have to get from Warrington to Sheffield via Castleford, which will take 1hr 58, so cutting it close. Should still be able to make it with enough time and be able to see the opening acts, buy some merchandise and spot a nice spot to dive into the moshpit from.
