TOPIC: World's on Fire - what were they thinking??

Re: World's on Fire - what were they thinking?? 9 months, 3 weeks ago #64036

Fuck me. This is a joke, right? Since when were the prodigy about sterilized, sanitised, clean production? I feel you're missing the point somehow. I was there and I can tell you that if you weren't,this is the closest you're gonna get. The sound production is flippin immense and hey, guess what? It's a music band. You listen to them! As far as I'm concerned, if I can see them live on the stage at the same time as their massive audio,I'm there and any self respecting fan would be the same. Donkey.

my guess...
there's obvious sampling issues with the release...
either they couldn't get cleared or didn't wanna pay for em...

for example they chop a bit out at the end of Firestarter and the Morricone sample after Thunder in the actual DVD

they were obviously going to have to cut Diesel Power because of the heavy lead sample
Charly dub has a Meat Beat Manifesto vocal and bass sample at the start

so i'm guessing since a track or two was going to be cut no matter what in the end, they might as well cut tracks and give what THEY felt was a more direct and powerful edited version of the show

which sucks because i want the FULL show, but they have screwed us plenty of times with edited versions of concerts being put out... for example the Their Law DVD and the Brixton show

it's really a shame how World's On Fire was so chopped to shit, so many great tracks and classics cut out from the final version

I really wish Poison wasn't cut out. I loved the (now not so) new filler.

My major problem with it was that it wasn't the full set that they played. Cut out Poison, Mindfields, Diesel Power, set highlights No Good & Charly and most bizarre of all they cut World's On Fire.... THE TITLE TRACK!

Maybe in 2026 we'll get a 'World's on Fire 15th Anniversary - Added Fire' which actually has the right songs on

I really liked the filming quality but what I hate about the dvd is that they cut some songs
