So why not 320K? That's what I rip everything at.

It's all about lossless audio, FLAC or ALAC (for iPod users like me).

Does make a huge difference listening to music through decent speakers or headphones i've noticed. What headphones would you guys recommend? Im thinking of getting a new pair preferably quite discreet. Thanks in advance

If you really want the best quality to price ratio I'd go with the Shure SRH840 headphones. I got them a couple of weeks ago for about 200$ CDN so I think that's about 100 pounds but don't quote me.

Been listening to Break & Enter through my Creative Aurvana Live headphones. Holy fuck that grimey bassline sounds more amazing than ever! So hypnotic - could listen to it all day! These can are defo worth investing in, 70 quid on Amazon.

The production is raw
The sounds are dirty

You can't get away from that

Last night I tried Weather Experience with new headphones and I was amazed to find all these well hidden sounds. Love it even more now.

For headphone/portable listening, I use a pair of AKG K271 mk2 headphones which I got on special offer, with a CMOY type pocket amp :-

that I knocked together myself, as I find portable players don't have the balls to drive the headphones properly.

Cheap and fairly decent combination. Mostly these get plugged into a SE W995 phone.

Does MP3 files pretty good justice anyway.

I'm quite grateful at the moment.
I'm currently "looking after" a pair of Meridian dsp5200.
Currently, they are the most well trated things in my house, as I'm terrified of damaging them, but they are very very good!

The same thing here, I thought they were random noises from the street, but then I realised they were following a pattern and played the tracks again and again just to make sure.

Heh, on Voodoo People, if you listen at 2:12 (in total my Voodoo People is 6:27 in length, should be the same for you) to the right speaker/headphone, there is a small sample that comes and goes, a light drum beat or something, but whenever it goes, it cuts off kinda nastily. It plays at the same times as the 'wow wow...wow wow wu wow wow...wow wow'

True, hence I said speaker/headphone I know I know, this thread is about headphones, but it's something I first noticed with headphones

pretty much the only reason i use headphones at home is, that i don't like to wake (the fuck) up the neighbours when it's late like now, 1 a.m.
