TOPIC: Which era includes the first Prodigy song you've heard?

Which era includes the first Prodigy song you've heard? 2 years, 9 months ago #49790

[*] Example: The first song I heard from the Prodigy was Spitfire. However, it was the 2005 version which plays in The Prodigy's music video for Spitfire. So I would click the 2005-07 (etc.) option, not the 2004 option.

Note: I understand that you might have heard a Prodigy song before you were a fan and didn't even realize it. In that case, click the option that includes the first song that got you hooked to Prodigy.

What Evil Lurks, but it was Android that got me really interested. One of my cousin's mates had just bought the EP when it came out and was playing it to us. Him and my cousin are 9 years older than me and were into their DJing. I grew up with a lot of oldskool hip-hop and electro because of my cuz, but hearing the Prodigy from their humble beginnings is what I will remember most.

A lovely thank you to Mr. W 30, James Jupiter the 8th, Mrs. 303, Mr. 909, and especially Monsieur Akai 1100 (The Earthbound Crew)

I ticked the Firestarter button because it was the first song that I heard that I knew was Prodigy but I know that before that I heard Voodoo People and One Love because Hackers was one of my favorite movies as a kid.

I am one of the few that became a fan via AONO. I hate to say this but the first Prodigy song that I heard was You'll Be Under My Wheels while playing Need For Speed Most Wanted on PS2 , I still love the track and that track was the reason I bought AONO. To be honest though the game soundtracks weren't too bad, plus the first dnb track I heard was from this game ( I mean Broken Sword by Evol Intent)

When one person suffers from a delusion it is called insanity
when many people suffer from a delusion it is called religion

Either No good or Poison for me, although Break and Enter was my Favourite when i actually bought Jilted...... It was definitely around that era though!
I was born in 84 so was probably 11 when i got into them... Makes me wish i was born late 70s sometimes because iv missed out on years of the earlier gigs due to being a little shit

The Fat of the Land era was where I first heard The Prodigy and yes you guessed it, it was Firestarter, on MTV if I recall correctly. I was very young and it was my brother who put it on, at first I didn't like it.

The era where I seen myself become an avid Fan was Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned, Spitfire randomly came on a Music station on TV one night, MTV also strangely enough if memory serves Me, and I was in to HMV the next day buying my first ever Prod' CD. What a day...

AONO is actually one of My all-time favourite albums by the boys, (or should I say boy in this case ) I really love the noises/sounds/samples and how everything's arranged, Spitfire as I've mentioned, brutal, unrelenting song followed by a very lush rave-out Girls, and Memphis Bells for one is just gorgeous, strong beat, knows exactly what it's doing with itself, Medusa's Path is fuckin' dirty! Especially the big electro wailing scream! Under My Wheels is excellent driving music, etc, etc.

Brilliant album.

Grew up with Jericho and Charlie drummed into my head...thanks mum!
Hehe though I was born 91, so as far as how old I must have been to be able to remember music, Jilted must have been out too, but it's Experience I remember first, then Jilted.

Experience era was when I first heard The Prodigy, songs I first heard were Out of Space or Charly. But I didn't really start to like The Prodigy until MFTJG, that was the first album of theirs I bought. I was hooked on Voodoo People.

My best friends older brother was playing Everybody in the place from the What Evil Lurks Ep and I fell in love with Android after begging him to play it over and over again. I was 10 and I've been a Prodigy user ever since - proper addicted to the beats.
