I was talking to my friend recently and he was saying he would like it if Liam brought an Experience Era feel back to this new album as it's his favorite album by the band. considering no two prodigy albums are really similar, it could be a difficult question but it seems that the IMD style of music is really what they're about now, so do you think it will be more of IMD or they will change up the style?

i dont want the new album to sound like none of the previous 5 albums, not cause i dont like them its just that the prodigy have always been about making fresh sounding music, i dont want a fat of the land part 2 {and what ive heard neither does liam} all the prodigy albums have been relevent to the time that they were released, so like always the next album will be liams take on the eletronic scene atm, but his own way. i wont be suprised if some trax are abit dubstep influenced,this is just my opinion, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Heavy like IMD here and there, but still long ass electronic loops, layers and build ups like MFTJG.

That's more wishful thinking than a genuine prediction though...
People say the prodigy have always brought a new sound to each record, so you can't tell where this will go. Well I disagree with half of that. Sure, they brought a new sound each time, but you can tell where it's gonna go, since all the new sounds have been steps in one direction; rock.

Experience - Opposite of rock. Polar opposite. The epitome of non-rock.
MFTJG - Some guitars of Voodoo and Their Law, still mainly electronic.
FOTL - Breathe and Firestarter added punk-like vocals to some more guitars. Not too electronic sounding. In the middle.
AONO - Heavy bass guitars, it gets saved from being labeled rock due to the glorious beats.
IMD - Almost a rock album. Moshers? Liam getting an award from Kerrang? That Zane Lowe radio 1 dropped track he played? Compare this era to Experience...


Liam seems to be really digging rock stuff now, so I'm keeping that mind...

The next album will not be similar Experience or Mftjg thats for sure (although it would be cool it's impossible). That being said i think it will be similar to Imd and aono. I just hope that there wont be so many tracks with "complex" vocals .

Although i dont think it will sound like IMD i do think that it will be a band effort like IMD was. It seemed to work well that way from what the boys have said so why mess with a winning formula. Direction wise i'd love it if it went along the way Mesaline sounds. Really raw, dark & heavy mashed up beats just fusing in to a crazed beast of a track.

Best of new album will be fresh - not copy of older tunes.
But the best way for me could be something between FOTL (vocals and riffs) & MFTJG (dark beats).

I think Liam said in an interview that "it's gonna be the darkest album you've ever heard".

Probably IMD, because it will (hopefully) be released soon so the music scene will be still be similar. Might be some dubstep influence in there and plenty of rock, probably featuring Keith, and some collaborations. I hope Maxim features a bit more personally. A bit harder and darker than IMD would be nice too.

Yeah boy! Back 2 Skool is super-banging track and it's has a very dark vibe, love it. That was one of the tracks that really got me into The Prodigy, just blew my mind. I had almost forgotten it for a year or two, and now I've been listening to it again and again. Felt the same as when finding this music back then (maybe 2006). The beats are just so raw and I love the samples. That direction I'd love to hear, wouldn't mind hearing Back 2 Skool in the live sets again!
