Yo peepe was wondering if anyone knows the prod typical gig gear i see in vids Liam has 3 laptops and a few keyboards and analouge mixer what is running on the lapies i see one near the drummer is it for trigered drum sounds of the drummer and what are the others running and is one keyboad a master midid for sounds on lapies . does anyone know or can the man himself clear it up for me im lookin at gigin myself and wanted to know what liam uses and why.

This is some of what I've gathered, though it may have changed:
Ableton running on Mac Book Pro's
Access Virus TI Polar
MiniMoog Voyager
MicroKorg


Can't remember the rest, but most of it is for show. The Access is literally used for a few notes, the rest is just him tweaking the knobs on stage to keep busy (from what I've gathered)
The MiniMoog will set you back a fair bit, but the Access is an excellent synth purchase. Harry Gregson Williams has one in his studio, one of the biggest Hollywood composers today, so it has a good range of features and options.

One of the Macs is running Reason 4.0 for real time triggering samples.

from what I know, Liam produces and works
on the theme of the original ideas in Reason ..
so it must have a very close relationship of this software.

Not gonna slag his methods of working, he's more than proven his way works...

...but using reason, and thus a whole laptop just for a feature which he can do through something he's already running bugs me.

you know how things are ..
he can afford to buy or have whatever it wants,
so, he has one more macbook just to run Reason.. may be considered "normal."
anyway, also am a fan of this software, and know the potential of this beast, but I agree that with Live, resolved the situation.

I'm gonna try out reason tonight, looks interesting
