Is it weird that im not overly into any of the electro bands that this forum says the average prodigy fan should be?
i.e. Chemical Brothers, Noisia, Pendulum, Aphex twin, Massive Attack, Leftfield, Underworld, Does It Offend You, Simian Mobile Disco, Justice etc...

I mean, i know their music and i like the odd song by each act but never listen to any of them on a regular basis or would go out of my way to see them live.
I also dont think any of them are even 50% as good as the boys.

I know what you mean.

Music should be the only thing that people on here have in common, but that doesnt mean that we have to like the same, other than the boys obviously.

I just want to sincerely apologise to everyone on here for such a dramatic error, especially stingy303, im sure i offended alot of you with my mistake. All i can do is say sorry and hope you will forgive me. If the site admins want to take further action and possibly close down my account because of this i will fully understand.

I still cant believe i genralised Aphex twin as a band in a list of mostly bands. what an idiot

Yeah people are too fussy with some shit..nyways back on topic Im the same, i like a few songs of the BANDS you mentioned () but not properly 'into' them all.

@ Preston : I didn't mean to act as a "know it all" guy or offend you , I also thought it was a band , based on the name "twin" .......i just wanted to make it clear

Ha, no offence taken mate. I was only messing about. When i first heard of Aphex twin i thought he was a band. Its a deceiving name. When i found out the reason why he calls himself Aphex Twin it creeped me out a bit.

But as Martin said, back to the topic, I dont really follow any of them. Chems older stuff was alright, i thought Mezzanine was a wicked album and Underworld and Twin have a few good tunes between them. Just strikes me as a bit odd sometimes as all the electronic side of the fans on here tend to lean towards such *ACTS* and none of them overly interest me

I guess it's a matter of age and when you got into them really. "Back in the day" the only people I knew who appreciated the Prodigy where into Underworld, Leftfield, Orbital, Massive Attack, Leftfield, AT, FSOL etc. They were all from a similar mould and part of the same scene. You didn't get rockers or grungers or indie type kids listening to any of them, including the Prodigy, it just didn't happen. Back then Prodigy was part of the electronica scene only, no crossover at all. Of course I'm happy for the boys success, but after seeing all the acts I've mentioned previously live, their crowds are far better, friendlier and more thoughtful than those you get at Prodigy gigs now, and the reason for that is that they attract fans outside of the electronics scene who don't behave the same way at gigs. I was right at the front for Underworld, Orbital etc and didnt even get josteled a little bit.

My mate Nath (the one on your facebook) went to Underworld the other week and said it was an amazing gig but what he really liked was it was such a good crowd. Mostly 'older' people and there for the music and experience rather than just using it as a chance to jump about and get wasted.
I suppose it is the wrong attitude to take and quite ignorant and arrogant but i definitely find Electo crowds a much nicer atmosphere and vibe than any other type of gig, and as you said, unfortunately due to Prodigys massive commercial success, that is not what you get at a Prodigy gig.

I used to like The Thompson Twins until I found out they weren't twins at all and there was in fact three of them

I cant actually even recall what I was in to around that time (early to mid 90's)...I think I was too young to really get in to music, the Prodigy was the shit my mum played and I loved it. Got into a lot of music, but turned my back on rock and metal recently (few weeks ago).
I don't even know where I'll end up musically in a month.
