TOPIC: Most underrated tracks off each album

Most underrated tracks off each album 1 year, 4 months ago #61269

Out of pure boredom with little in the way of news lately I was thinking of which tracks are the most underrated from each album. List follows with an explanation:

Experience- Jericho: most of the album has more of a rave feel except Jericho. It was ahead of its time IMO, has a great beat with an old school vibe yet is a taste of things to come.

MFTJJ- Claustrophobic Sting: best close of any of their albums. The way that The Narcotic Suite builds to this track is so epic. It makes you want to play the whole album again. And I fucking love the laugh track that's used. It's sinister yet chilled which is quite a feat.

TFOTL- Narayan- I've said this before but just love this tune so much. The beat is repetitive and somewhat simple but good god it's perfect and gets your ass moving. Vocals aren't the best, and really the only thing that keeps this from being big time.

AONO- Memphis Bells- AONO is just sexy and MB just stands out to me. Such a creative use of the bells. The sound is smooth, a little funky and clearly the Prodigy.

IMD- Colours- I'll probably get some shit for this choice. This to me says we are moving forward from AONO, as it blends a bit of that albums sound with IMD. It says Keith and Maxim are back and we are about to do this thing proper. It always works very well live and makes great use of the live guitars and drums.

Now give me what you've got.

mine would be

Experience: Hyperspeed {part 2} i think personally this was the first track to show of how liam could manipulate samples, and its just a banging tune man.

Music For the Jilted Generation: 3 kilos my second favorite track off jilted, goosebumps everytime i listen to it

Fat of the land: Narayan, this track is a masterpiece, just so different but yet so prodigy, love the vocals the drop when it goes all mental 2 minutes before the end leads perfectly into firestarter

Always Outnumbered Never Outgunned: Phoenix {yeah i know its not a favorite of many, but my god that beat ^_^ sexy tune}

invaders must die: original thunder, oh i would love for them to play the original version at least once live and hear it

Experience: Weather Experience. Yup, I said it. It's underrated.
MFTJG: Skylined? Hard to pick.
FOTL: Climbatize I reckon.
AONO: Memphis Bells. Prod-era sound-defining track
IMD: Agreed with proxi, Thunder.

Experience: Hyperspeed (G Force Pt. II)
Just love when those rolling kicks come in, almost double peddle sounding

MFTJG: Claustrophobic Sting
Dark, sinister, powerful closer to an epic album. Love the laugh and I'm a sucker for that 303 acid sound

FOTL: Fuel My Fire
I actually love this cover song, took a punk tune and fits well with that Prodigy electro-punk sound

AONO: Get Up Get Off
I think this tune pounds, love the groove and Twista kills it

IMD: Piranha
love this song, one of my faves off this album with Thunder. love the sub bass on this,

Experience - Music Reach (1/2/3/4)
No one ever talks about this great track! I Love the female vocals.

MFTJG - One Love (edit)
Why no love for this? Perfect length for a mesmerizing song.

FOTL - Climbatize
Great music to listen to on a road trip. Sounds sooooo epic. I in fact heard my local television news channel use it in one of their video montages of storm footage.

AONO - Action Radar
The tune is epic and the "a little action is all I need" lyrical parts are soothing. The screaming by Paul Jackson, or whomever, somewhat ruins the song though and is probably the reason for the song's negative reception.

IMD - Piranha
I don't get what's wrong with it. It's one of the best sounding on the album. This track actually feels like an album track. Most of the other songs on the IMD album only sound good live. In fact, Piranha is the ONLY song on the album that hasn't been played live (remember that Stand Up was played at the end of all IMD era gigs). All of the other songs, even Colours and Thunder, were played at least once in their original form and of course all of them have either been been played shortened or played remixed. The closest Piranha ever came to being played live was back when Maxim would use some of the song's lyrics during "chapter 2" of Poison.

Re: Most underrated tracks off each album 1 year, 1 month ago #62697

my only issue with One Love [Edit] is that all the best bits from the full version are cut out from it
the opening is great and the closing is even better

i agree with you 100%, one of the best tracks off IMD. Piranha deserves to played live, i was always hoping Liam would throw a curveball and open with Piranha instead of World's On Fire. i think it would make for a strong live track. all the elements are there, even Rob could play along with it and Maxim dropping a full vocal would be a nice touch. Keith could do some back up vox with the "P-piranha."
